T1. Formal Speaking:
It is a type of speaking that does not involve any personal matter.
It is one type of speaking in which the speaker has to follow requisite norms or principles at the time of conveying messages in a formally prescribed or structured manner for the organization.
It is mainly associated with office or organizational communication in which some kind of hierarchy is involved.
The material to be spoken is generally organized, far away from irrelevant things. Formal speaking includes speeches, presentations, debates, conferences, etc.
T2. Informal Speaking:
Informal speaking takes place in an unstructured manner and outside of formal forums. Informal speaking is that form of speaking that involves personal matters.
When people communicate informally, they are not bound by their organization free to say anything to anybody. The talks at home, among our positions.
Everyone's friends, neighbors, relatives, colleagues, and co-workers come under this form of speaking.
It is the most natural way of speaking, it deals with personal matters mostly we share our sorrows and joys, discuss family and job, and relations with near and dear ones in this form of speaking. Gossip and discussions just as time pass comes under this.
At home and in a social gathering, we are engaged in this speaking and
is not bound by any formality, strict discipline, hierarchical order, or a particular format, or there, or we speak for fun, humor, and to express our feelings. This type of speaking has a specific vocabulary. It does not involve any artificial tone, accent, or voice modulation depending on our relations with the person we are interacting with.
Example:
We have informal relationships with our family members, relatives, and co-workers where formalities have no space. Two friends have a casual way of communication; it is conveyed through telephone talk, Coffee house talk, and rumors as regularly informal communication.
T3. Task-oriented speaking:
Task-oriented speaking is a form of formal speaking. This type of speaking is concerned with a conversation among colleagues, officers, and employees related to the organizational issues or problems within an office or an organization, or another organization.
When a businessman interacts with the supplier of raw materials or a manager in an organization is talking to employees about the decline of sales.
Most of the talking in an organization is engaged in task-oriented speaking for fruitful output. For effective task-oriented speaking:
1. The speaker should use simple words and phrases in a clear, fluent, and audible
voice.
T4. Semiformal speaking:
Semiformal speaking combines formal and informal
speaking. It is a type of speaking that is not fully formal or entirely informal. Semiformal speaking takes place mainly at offices, between the person nearly at the same post.
The person having a personal relationship at home has semiformal speaking at offices. The speaker must possess sufficient knowledge and facts related to the task or issue under discussion.
It's essential that the speaker should listen to the other's views/opinions and should ask for clarification in case of any doubt or misunderstanding.
T5. Interpersonal speaking:
Interpersonal speaking is talking between two persons. This type of speaking may be formal or informal. Talking is the best way to express feelings and get the work done.
Informal speaking is what we speak at home, among friends, relatives, colleagues, etc., in a natural way.
These are talking regarding personal matters, recreation, for gossip to share joys and sorrows, etc.
This type of speaking does not follow a particular pattern. Vocabulary formality, hierarchical order, strict discipline, or any bondage or courtesy. Here the person is free to express his feelings in his own way.
It is the most natural way of speaking, free from artificial tone, accent, and voice modulation.
The spoken words in this type of speaking depend on our relations with the person we are interacting with.
It also depends on the nature and mood of the person. The manners and etiquette are decided by the person.
