Types of Public Speaking

In order to make the right communication either formal or informal way, speaking skill is a must. 
How knowledge you possess, doesn't matter, the matter is what you convey and how you convey.

    S1. Formal Speaking: 

    Formal speaking is a type of speaking which does not involve in any way personal matter. 

    Formal speaking is a type of speaking in which the speaker has to follow some norms and principles at the time whenever conveying the message in the formerly and structured manner for the firm. 

    It always associated with organizational or office communication in which some kind of hierarchy is involved. 
    The topic to be spoken is generally organized, far away from the irrelevant stuff.  
    Formal speaking can be included conferences, debates, presentations, speeches, etc

    S2. Informal Speaking: 

    It takes place in an unstructured manner and outside of the formal one. 
    Informal speaking is a type of speaking which involves the personal things that mean whenever people communicate informally, they never bound by their organizational positions. 

    Everybody free to tell anything to anybody. Informal speaking just like speaking at home, among friends, neighbors, relatives, colleagues, co-workers, etc. 

    It is the most natural way of speaking
    We share our joy or sorrow, discuss on a family and jobs, relations with the near and dear ones in this form of speaking. 

    Gossips, discussions just for timepass comes under this form of speaking. 
    In social gatherings or at home people gathering in one place and talking to each other is not bound with any formality or strict discipline order particular format or particular vocabulary. 

    This means everyone has their freedom to speak freely and share their thoughts with the fun and joy with others.

    Example of Informal Speaking: 

    Two or more friends have an informal way of communication. It is conveyed through Coffee House talk, rumors are a regularly informal communication or in telephone talk. 

    S3. Task-oriented speaking: 

    This is the form of a formal speaking this type of speaking is concerned with conversion among officers, employees, colleagues and related to the organization is used for any problem within the firm or an organization or to the organization. 
    When a businessman interacting with the supplier for the raw material or any manager in the organization is talking to an employee about the decline of sale. 

    Most of the people talking in the organization are engaged in the task-oriented speaking for a fruitful result. 

    How to do Task-Oriented speaking: 
    • The speaker should possess sufficient knowledge facts related to the task and issue under the discretion. 

    • The speaker should use simple phrases and words in a clear audible voice and fluent. 

    • It is very necessary that the speaker should listen to the other's views opinions and should ask the clarifications if any doubt or misunderstanding arises.

    S4. Semi-Formal Speaking: 

    This is the type of speaking which combines formal and informal speaking. 
    That means it is a type of speaking which is not fully formal or fully informal. 

    This speaking takes place mainly in offices between the person nearly in the same post. 

    For Example, a person having a personal relationship at home and is a colleague at the office level, then he or she can make a semi-formal speaking with him or her. 

    If two friends are working in the same office at the same level both can interact in a semi-formal way, because they are interacting to each other in the informal way when they are outside of the office but in a formal way when inside the office, both can interact in the semi-formal which included formal and informal. 

    S5. Interpersonal Speaking: 

    It is talking between two persons. 
    This type of speaking may be either formal or informal. 
    It described informal speaking as what we speak at home among friends, colleagues or relatives. 

    It is a really most natural way of speaking where is speaker has freedom from the artificial tone, accent and voice modulation. 
    Sometimes it depends on the nature and the mood of the person according to that only the speaker started speaking in that way. 
    If two-person sharing their secret thoughts to each other without worrying about the tone, speech and accent is just interpersonal speaking but how they are conveying their thoughts with fun and joy. 

    In this type of speaking there is no overacting or any type of showcase, but all messages are genuine and real whichever came in the mind, thought is getting a share.
